The tracking test for plug and socket-outlet conform to IS 1293
According to IS 1293 clause 28.2, for accessories other than ordinary, parts of insulating material retaining live parts in position shall be of material resistant to tracking tester.
Compliance is checked according to IS 2824.
Ceramics parts are not tested.
The material under test shall pass a tracking index of:
175 V using test solution A with the interv between drops 30s +-5s. No flash over or breakdown between electrodes shall occur before a total of 50 drops has fallen.The tracking tester ZLT-LDQ manufactured by Zhilitong Electromechanical Co., ltd, can perform tracking test as per IS 1293 standard.
