Mechanical strength test for switch for household and similar fixed -electrical installation

According to IEC 60669 clause 20, switches ,boxes and screwed glands of switches that have an IP code higher than IP0 shall have adequate mechanical strength so as to withstand the stresses imposed during installation and use.

Compliance is checked by the following test:

For all types of switches and their dedicated box , are subject to pendulum impact test apparatus with striking elements mass 150±1g

For switches with a base intended to be mounted directly on a surface , are fixed to a cylinder of rigid steel sheet

For screwed glands of switches with IP code higher than IP20, is applied to screwed glands test device.
